On adjusted basis, Rogers Communication, Inc. reported income for the quarter of $ 0.44 per share, missed the consensus estimate of $ 0.60 income per share by $ 0.16 or 26.67 percent.
The quarterly earnings down 52.94 percent compared with the same quarter last year.
The firm had revenue of $ 2,334.70 million for the quarter, compared to the consensus estimate of $ 2,760.00 million. The revenues fell short of analysts estimates by $ 425.3 million or 15.41 percent.
The financial report showed revenues lowered 16.53 percent versus second quarter of last year.
The company announced, Due to the continued uncertainty surrounding the duration and potential outcomes of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable at this time to predict the overall impact on our operations and financial results, but the impact to date has been material. It is not possible at this time to reliably estimate our financial results for the remainder of the year.
In a separate press release, the Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend totaling 50 cents per share on each of its outstanding Class B Non-Voting shares and Class A Voting shares. The quarterly dividend will be paid on October 1, 2020 to shareholders of record on September 9, 2020.
