The Progressive Corporation (NYSE:PGR) announced its second quarter earnings results on Wednesday 15th July 2020 before market open.
The property and casualty insurance giant, reported $ 3.04 income per share for the quarter, beat the consensus estimate of $ 1.74 income per share by $ 1.30 or 74.71 percent.
The quarterly earnings grew 83.13 percent compared with the same quarter last year.
The firm had $ 9,648.60 million of Net premiums earned for the quarter, compared to the consensus estimate of $ 9724.48 million. The top line fell short of analysts estimates by $ 75.88 million or 0.78 percent.
The financial report showed revenues expanded 9.34 percent versus second quarter of last year.
